Security and risk consulting, from a firm that’s been in Tucson since 1993.
Associated Konsultants advises businesses across the country. This is where it works from, where its founder lives, and where a good share of its clients are.
Why local actually matters for this work, and where it doesn’t
Most technology work doesn’t care where anybody is. This isn’t most technology work.
The assessment has a half that can only be done in your facility. Not the network half — the other one. Who can walk through your front door, how visitors are handled, whether contractors are badged, what the parking lot lighting is like at closing time, how long a first responder actually takes to reach you. A remote review cannot do any of it, and most security firms therefore don’t.
For a Tucson business that means two things. The free hour on site is genuinely free — there is nothing to quote for travel, and no reason for a fifteen-minute question to wait for a trip to be worth making. And if something needs a second look, a second look is a drive.
Where it doesn’t matter: everything after the assessment. The report, the out-brief meeting, implementation oversight, ongoing work — all of it runs the same for a client here as for one in Ohio. Being local is an advantage in the part of this work that happens in person, and neutral everywhere else. It would be dishonest to claim more.

A local 501(c)(3) — a locked-up system, and a director who wasn’t sure what else had been reached.
“Don’t wait when it comes to protecting your technology and data. Having a knowledgeable, trustworthy professional evaluate the problem helps prevent a small issue from becoming a much larger one.”

What you’d actually get
The same thing every client gets, wherever they are.
Two conversations before anything costs you a thing. Twenty minutes on a call, then up to an hour at your place looking at what you actually have.
Then a written proposal with fixed hours, a fixed cost and a date. Nothing is quoted before the visit, because a number produced without seeing the place is a guess with padding in it.
Then the assessment: your network scored against the 18 CIS Critical Security Controls — a published standard your insurer and your auditor both recognize — and your building, your people and your processes assessed alongside it. Six to eight hours on site, seven to ten days to the report, then a meeting to walk you through it. About two weeks from signature.
And the report is yours. Hire Associated Konsultants to carry out the recommendations, hand it to the IT company you already use, or do it in-house. Green Valley did the second one.
The honest version
Associated Konsultants is not a Tucson-only firm, and this page would be more persuasive if it pretended otherwise. Clients are across the United States, and the founder spent thirty years in security leadership at organizations considerably larger than anything in this valley — including as Chief Information Security Officer for one of the world’s largest defense manufacturers.
What that means for a business here is not that you get a local vendor. It is that you get someone whose day job used to be protecting things far bigger than your company, who is fifteen minutes away, and who will tell you plainly which of the things you’re worried about are not actually your problem.
Twenty minutes.
No cost, no presentation, no obligation. We work out whether there’s a fit — and if there isn’t, I’ll say so and point you somewhere better.
